With the changing political environment and interests, French further reversed their policy and abandoned all pretensions to Cilicia, which they had originally hoped to attach to their mandate over Syria.[35] The Cilicia Peace Treaty was signed on 9 March 1921 between France and Turkish Grand National Assembly.
